It's a county park now and they want to do other things with it (I heard put a beach in by the water) so the course will essentially be moved to near by land, planning is still in process... last time I spoke with Jake (driftwood) he said he does have his event confirmed for March there but after that we are not sure.

I just moved to the area. I heard the news a while ago. I decided to call the park office. After getting sent to a few extensions I talked with someone who works for the Pontiac Oaks Park. She said that the park closing was a vicious rumor. The course is here to stay. I played on Christmas Day and noticed improvements that happened in the last few weeks including signs pointing to the next tee and deck stairs on 10s elevated basket for easy retrieval. They wouldn’t spend the time or money fixing up the course if they were going to pull it. Happy New Year!
