RECORD SETTING YEAR FOR RMH & WATERLOO
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, Waterloo DGC and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas (RMH) would like to thank the players, sponsors, and all the amazing volunteers of the 47th Annual Waterloo Disc Golf Classic for their successful efforts to raise $12,000 for RMH.
A couple of cool things about the fundraising:
1) Not only is this $12,000 a record-high amount for the tournament, beating the previous best by over a thousand dollars, BUT it also pushed the total fundraising amount over the $200,000 threshold!
2) By setting a new record here in 2024, this means it took the tournament 18 years to break the $100,000 mark but only half that time, 9 years, to break $200,000.
In addition to the cash this year we also collected a box of food & household goods plus 9 gallon-jugs full of aluminum can tabs.
The grand totals to RMH starting with the 21st Annual Waterloo DG Classic in 1998 and continuing through the 47th Waterloo in 2024 are now:
$200,643 in cash, many many boxes of food, toys, and household goods, and 241 gallons of can tabs.
Thank you to EVERYONE who helped make this year so successful and so fun, including the Golf Division of Austin P.A.R.D. and the hard working staff at the Hancock (Ball) Golf Course. They are a joy to work with and they always have the course looking beautiful and in great shape. We are already looking forward to the 48th Annual Waterloo in 2025.
