MINT Discs: Alright here’s the current plan for improving

Alright here’s the current plan for improving attendance at the event.

After the Leftovers Events(Thanksgiving weekend) we will assign remaining spots to those that qualified(90 points). Then we will open registration to everyone else.

But what about those who earned a bonus? Don’t worry!

Only players that earn 90 points by the end of the HOTT Finals will earn a bonus. This is why Finals awards 20+ points. This will be an entirely separate payout from the PDGA event. You need to play HOTT Finals and have 90 points to earn the bonus. Failure to do either will disqualify you from a bonus.

We will award Trophies for Season Points winners, Tournament winners and Tour winners for each division. If you don’t have 90 points and win your division in the tournament, then you will only receive the Tournament trophy and the other two trophies will be awarded to those that had 90 points.

This is similar to how Team Justice handled tour awards/prizes before Mint took over. After trying out a few different formats and listening to feedback we feel this is the best path. The concept of Match Play and flat payout wasn’t popular and that was why we set up points this way this year.

We will also be awarding the Mitch and Patty Justice Spirit Award to one player during the awards ceremony.

If we do not exceed 7
2 players, we will only play Sprinkle Valley and cut East Metro out.

How does bonus payout work? I see its says there is $1814 in the bonus pool but how will that be paid out. I have the most hhot points but I am assuming if I win the finale that the bonus will still get split up between me and other players somehow

It will be split by division by division by player. We will post the total per division once all events are completed. All players that play the finals and have 90 points will earn the HOTT bonus. Based on experience from pre-Mint HOTT, this was the best solution because it allowed for attendance and higher payouts at the Finals.

Hannah unfortunately we won’t be able to make any accommodations for that this year. We’ve had enough events that people can earn 90 points. We have had some internal discussions for how 2025 looks for women, including trying to do more with Wildflower but none of that is locked in yet.
