Only one day till the inaugural Battle of the Beasts!
We are thrilled to be raising money for the RHS Dragon Boat team and I look forward to meeting you at the course.
Here are a few things to keep in mind tomorrow.
1. Tournament Format and Structure
- Format Details:
1st round - best disc, long tees
2nd round - alternate shot, long tees
3rd round - best disc, short tees
- The first two rounds, teams will play in their initial group.
- After a 1-hour lunch break, teams will be reseeded into Tier 1 & Tier 2 divisions based on their performance of the first two rounds for the final round. Upon completion, we will declare winners of both divisions, so please stick around for a team photo.
- Starting Holes: Players to register at tent 25 minutes before tee time. Players meeting 15 minutes before tee off.
- Rules and Gameplay Reminders
Mandatories (Mandos): Hole #4 and has a designated drop zone. Path is not OB.
Out-of-Bounds (OB) Areas: All walking paths and beyond (Main walking through the centre of the course. This includes holes 5, 6, 7, 9 & 10.
2. Scoring and Reporting
- Scorekeeping: All scoring is conducted on UDisc Events. We will be able to track 'LIVE' scoring throughout the day.
3. Safety and Etiquette
- Course Safety: Be aware of their surroundings and watch for other players and course hazards
- Player Etiquette: Be good sportsmanship, respect for the course, and quiet during others’ throws
- Pace of Play: Keep a steady pace to avoid delays
- Searching for a disc: No more than 3 minutes of searching.
4. Special Activities
- Closest to the Pin: Round 1 will be hole 3 & 10. Second round will be Hole #4.
5. Volunteer Spotters and Course Assistance
Volunteer RHS Student spotters. Be kind and return flags to spotters after you throw the disc. All OB decisions are decided by players and their card mates.
NOTE: There has been MAJOR delays at the causeway bridge between Moncton and Riverview this week. Please plan your travels accordingly and give yourself extra time to be at the course and registered on time.
