If one were to miss the mandatory, but still have their disc land inbounds, the next throw must be from the designated drop zone or from the previous lie if no drop zone is designated. The rules do not allow for the lie to be marked at the last point inbounds, especially if the disc comes to rest inbounds if the mandatory route is missed.
