I'm pretty sure there is no rule about club members getting priority as I believe that would violate the PDGA rules. However, what it could be is this tournament fills up very quickly and each registration is time stamped as to when you started the registration process. It maybe that these other players started their registration process before you but finished after you.

Ken, I'm sorry but that would not make sense. I've seen this several times that the person that completes the process gets the spot. Someone that took longer would be waitlisted and miss out, it's happened numerous times with 3 of us friends doing registrations at the same time, we all started simultaneously, but one guy took way longer and was waitlisted. If it were based on the initiation of the session of the browser, he would have gotten in. Mentioning this to say, my guess what caused Gary's change in waitlist, is the overall waitlist numbers, he is waitlist #6 overall but he is waitlist #1 in his division.

Gary, it is by time slot and your registration timing was amazing. As soon as the A Pools filled completely I combined the two pools into one. At the point I initated the change, there were five Open players in the pool and no AMs. In the two minutes it took to make it happen, you registered and suddenly I had two Waitlist #1's on the list. But I moved you to the appropriate spot on the list based on your time slot.
