Here's everything you need to know for tomorrow:
LIVE SCORING
We're doing it through UDisc again this year. The app recently put out a feature to allow for doubles scoring in events and we're going to give that a go. As an FYI, the process for starting a card may be different than what you're used to for league, but it should be easy nonetheless.
Here's all you need to do:
1. Open the app
2. Click 'Events'
3. Click 'Flex Doubles at Meier's Creek Brewing Company'
4. Click 'Check In'
From there, you should be able to start your round. I'm going to check in at midnight and will pass along any updates if needed. Thanks for your patience as we try something new. It should make all of our lives easier in the future.
CHECK-IN
I will be set up in the cellar bar. You can access the area via the back patio or by coming in the front door and going down the stairs on your right.
Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your tee time. Ams can pick up their event-stamped disc. Cash/PayPal buy-ins for the ace pool will be taken. We'll also have a LOADED raffle for the CNYDGA course fund featuring a Sockibomb Combat Ranger, discs, apparel and more (cash/PayPal accepted).
I will also have CNYDGA club packs with me. If you're on the fence about signing up for a 2024-25 membership or this is new information to you, I strongly encourage you to join the fold. An annual membership is only $25, you get a disc, pin and lifetime member tag) and you become part of the driving force behind growing the sport in CNY. FOOD/DRINK
We'll have a bartender in the cellar from 12 p.m. onward.
There will be a buffet available to us starting at 1 p.m. for $20. Please pay at the bar and they will give you a plate. It will be out until at least 5 p.m. -- I'm expecting later as they're making plenty of food.
The kitchen upstairs will be open all day long so if you want to eat before or after the buffet is available, or just want to order something off the menu, go right ahead.
LAYOUT/OB
We'll be playing a 21-hole layout that starts with the 12 temp holes, then continues on the nine permanent baskets at MCBC. If you need any help navigating, the map on UDisc will show you the next tee each time you enter the scores for the preview hole.
For those who played last year, the flow is the same but some holes have been tweaked significantly. 2 is now a Par 4 that plays down the right side of the freshly mowed field. 5's pin has been moved about 100 feet back into the woods to make that a scorable Par 5. Hole 8's tee has been moved forward and right. And Hole 10's tee has moved back about 100 feet. Throw blindly at your own risk.
Hole 1: OB driveway right and across
Hole 2: OB road right and across, mando left of first big tree along road. If both players go OB off the tee (this would be impressive), a drop zone has been marked to throw from with a stroke penalty.
Hole 5: OB road right and across. Mando right of tree about 150 feet off tee. If both players throw OB, proceed to drop zone with a stroke penalty.
Hole 8: OB t grass that starts in front of tee and extends up right side of fairway. OB path left and across near basket. If both players are OB off the tee, proceed to drop zone with one-stroke penalty. All other OB shots play standard.
Hole 9: OB path left and across, long and across
Hole 10: OB tall grass right
Hole 11: OB tall grass right, driveway/parking lot and across left
Hole 12: OB tall grass right, driveway/parking lot and across left
Hole 16: OB fields right and left of basket as defined by tall grass. I added some flags on the right side in areas where the mow line wasn't clear.
Hole 18: OB driveway right and across, road long and across
Hole 20: Hop field as defined by outside edge of vertical wooden posts, pond long as defined by flags
Hole 21: Surrounded by water in pond, hop field long as defined by outside edge of vertical wooden posts, driveway right and across
