If I wanted to play MPO as an am. And I were to cash. Could I still stay as an am if I do not take the cash/get the store credit or whatever that would entail? Or would I be forced to take the cash and turn pro.

You could always turn down the cash if wanted. If you did place in the top 40% of the Pro field you could cash out and really what that would do it when you purchase your membership it would be a pro membership and would cost slightly more each year. You would still be able to play in nearly all the amateur divisions youd like in all of your local tournaments. The Only thing it really affects is if you wanted to go plan in one of the amateur major or elite events, you may not be able to play in some of those divisions but that also depends on how highly rated you are. i would take a quick second and look it up with the PDGA
