We had to set that rating because people were coming back year after year using fake names or not putting in their PDGA numbers so they could play for a basket!! you are two of the people. We are sending an email out to tonight to 6 teams. I realized that it may feel unfair to you, but it’s more unfair for the 50 something teams that sign up for that division.

The cap isn't 1870 or higher so two players without a rating, but would be rated over 935 each, can't team up and play in int/rec. I was 885 in Dec but haven't renewed so my rating for this event is 935. I don't have a problem with where the cap is set. Yes, it may hurt some legit int/rec players byvnot letting them team up. But it helps tthe other 50 or so teams play against teams that are more evenly matched.

I guess that makes some sense. Just stinks knowing having to play up a division when I know I’m not a 935 nor is my partner. But it’s better to be safe then sorry with these things so it’s understandable

What Curtis Shriver said is correct. I don't doubt what you're saying at all but the rating assigned to unrated players has to be universal for it to be fair. I know someone over 1,000 rated who didn't renew this year. If unrated players could sign up wherever they wanted it opens the door for a very unlevel playing field. I think the majority of disc golfers (rated or not) are honest people and wouldn't exploit that loophole if they could, but I still agree with the TD on this one. In a large tournament with payouts and trophy's etc it's just a necessary measure.
