In my experience, it’s very common for people to not show up the day off. While it’s not a guarantee you get in, if you’re close to the top of the waitlist and it’s not too far of a trip it might be worthwhile to give it a try.

Like Jonathan said, it is up to you to come to the tournament site. I can say I have had a couple of years where someone didn't show for the tournament and the waitlist people were able to get in. This is entirely up to you
