Rules: This event is a PDGA C Tier event. All players are responsible for knowing the rules and enforcing the rules. If you have not done so, please review the PDGA rules at https://www.pdga.com/rules/official-rules-disc-golf and the PDGA Competition Manual at https://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual-disc-golf-events. In particular, read the rules on mandatories, Out of Bounds, and Casual Relief, as there are several on the course. For example, there is a Casual Relief area on Hole 11. Also, if you are near barbed wire, you may take up to 2 meters of relief, either in the line of play (casual relief) or normal OB rules (if you went out of bounds).
Scores: The PDGA Digital Scorecard will be your official scorecard. It has all the official rules for the complete 27-hole layout. Please read the rules to your card before each hole. Two scorekeepers are required for each card. The second card can be PDGA, Udisc, or paper. (Blank cards available upon request.)The web app is available at pdga.com/score or there is an app named PDGA Live. The access code for Invasion of the Birdie Snatchers II is ITBS2.
Schedule: Your tee time is the tee time you selected, and is available at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/74434. Please check in at the shelter by Hole 10 at least 15 minutes before your tee time to get your player pack. If for some reason, you are unable to play, you must notify me to officially withdraw by phone or email. (Liz Borg-Bowman: 816-797-1764)
Player packs: Pro & amateur players receive a can koozie from Millennium Golf Discs. Amateurs also receive a Millennium disc and two-way LED flashlight.
Amenities: Tournament central will have bottled water, snacks, and bathrooms. After playing Hole 9, please stop at the shelter for intermission! MK will be grilling hot dogs to help sustain you through your journey. We have a few veggie burgers; please let us know before you tee off if you would like us to have one ready for you at intermission. There will be water and soft drinks available during the round; once your round is complete and your scorecard is submitted, players 21 and over are welcome to enjoy a beverage provided by Crane Brewing Company.
Course notes: See previously posted course notes, which are also entered in PDGA Tournament Manager, and will be visible on PDGA scoring. There is a Classic Layout available in Udisc for Bad Rock Creek, named Invasion of the Birdie Snatchers II. It takes you through the course step by step and is quite helpful. There are three temporary tee areas on the course (5A, 6A, and 17A); all others will utilize concrete tee pads.
Payouts: All pro players should have designated how they want payout. If you have not done so, please let us know. Amateurs: Duck's KC will have payout as store credit starting Sunday, 11/5/23; results will be posted in Discgolfscene once all rounds are completed. Payouts will be good through the end of the calendar year.
Awards/Playoff: Due to the nature of the event, we will not have playoffs in the event of a tie for first place, and trophies will be ordered after the tournament. Divisions with more than 10 players (currently MPO, MA40, MA1, MA2, MA3, & MA4) will have an award for first and second place; all others will have one for first place. It's a customized hoodie from Underpar Apparel, so I will need your size information to order it. Please check in with me before you leave if there's a chance you'll be a top finisher.
Ace Fund: If there are no aces hit by a member of the ace fund, the fund goes to course improvements. (And you will see a lot of improvements at Bad Rock Creek over the next six months.)
Thank you for joining us at this showing of Invasion of the Birdie Snatchers 2! We wish you all a safe and happy day of disc golf!
