Skyler is correct in that we only use the temporary holes around the parking lot for one round. Thank you Skyler! We had to adjust a few years back when the November weather was absolutely amazing. Park users showed up in mass since it was so nice out and I had a difficult time on Saturday just trying to blow out leaves while painting the tee pads and distances. When Sunday rolled around, we put the Shelby Township barriers up and people moved them and parked in many danger zones. Since then, we have played holes 1 – 9 and the upper temporary layout in the morning and park vehicles by the barriers. The only way around the barriers and vehicles is up and over and the curbs. At Bends the curbs are extremely high leaving only a few with lifted vehicles or wrecks wishing to pass. We finish the 1st round and move the barriers early enough in the day for park users to enter. We then switch HQ to the north pavilion and play holes 10 – 27 leaving the parking lot and holes 1 – 9 for anyone who wishes to arrive later in the day so they have places to park and holes to play on. Combine all that with daylight savings and it being dark out by 5:30, adding more players only makes the day much longer. I will discuss adding more spots with the staff and get back asap.
