Hey there everyone,
So weather isnt looking great for this weekend.. I know I said we would run it regardless (I was thinking a couple inches at most, not the 6 inches plus more on the way and sub freezing temps). Travel isnt looking great either especially at night, and a lot of the players are from out of town. I'd really like to give you folks a chance to weigh in on wether or not we would run the tournament this weekend.
I have enough discs in the prize pool to get everyone an extra disc on top of the player packs, and we could draw out of a hat for the rest of the prizes (Whale tails, towels, and pins)
I can figure out shipping(cheaper than driving to Minot and back unless you are a local) or you are welcome to come get your discs / prizes.
If we decide not to run the tournament, I would host the tournament at a later date, next spring free of charge. I would contact everyone well ahead of time so plans could be made. Maybe we could get an optional cash prize pool going for some kind of reward on that day as well (5 or 10$) , but unrequired to play the event.
OR
We can just run it, but I will say that the tees will be sloppy and hard to mark effectively, and there will be a fair amount of snow. Travel will be dangerous in the evening with road conditions being the way they are. I dont mind setting everything up at all, especially since that was the plan anyway.
Personally, I think everyone getting an extra disc plus a chance at the other prizes, and running the tournament this Spring is a win - win. People would be safer, and with higher turnout this spring I'm sure.
I want to ask you all what you think about these options.
Sorry for the short notice, but mother nature is fickle at best and we all know that.
Thanks for your time, please let me know what you think as soon as possible before I make the call.
