The $40 entry gets you into the event, park permit, PDGA fees, charity contribuion, drinking water on the course, etc, but the vast majority of your entry goes to payout of the Top 40% of the players in your division. Pros play for cash payout and Amateurs play for pick your own prizes. This means you get to choose from a large variety of really cool discs, beef jerky, disc golf items you can't find elsewhere.
