Important Pinewoods Dubs Announcement
Saturday is the day!! I wanted to lay out the expectations and rules for this weekends event. We are trying to make it clear that Disc Golf is an excellent activity for the North Tonawanda Community and events can be beneficial as a result. A few things I just wanted to layout to make sure we all have a good time and the city can see the perks of having a course.
Parking: Please DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS IN THE PARK. If there are no spaces in any of the lots surrounding the pavilions, please utilize the available legal street parking surrounding the park or use the satellite lot behind the dollar general across the street.
No open alcohol consumption or drug use is acceptable. It is against a city ordinance to open carry and/or consume any drugs or alcohol inside the park while playing the course.
Operate with courtesy and respect: The course is not technically closed so if casual players do arrive and try to squeeze in, please be polite and courteous
In your interactions with them. Let them know there is an event happening and every hole is occupied as a result. This rule also applies to the neighbors. Do not engage in any negative banter with any of the neighbors. Keep any interaction with them polite, courteous and positive. Show them that our community is respectful.
Card requests: if you have a card request, make it ASAP. I am making the cards tonight so after 7pm I will no longer be taking requests.
Tournament Central: we will be set up in the pavilion closest to hole 1. Please check in there and that is where the pizza lunch will be served.
Scoring: We will be doing the exact same set up as last time. Udisc does not offer live scoring for doubles/teams events yet so at least one person on every card should be keeping a Udisc score and then 1 person from the card should come to the TD’s and relay the scores for both teams. The format is the same as the last event. 3 rounds. We will shuffle cards after each round based on scores.
