Welcome to the 2023 ToonTown Throwdown! We're excited, and looking forward to a good group of people trying out this new layout, and giving us some feedback so we can evaluate it for future use.
Attached is the caddy-book, showing both red and blue layouts. We will have ob/mandos marked and flagged on Saturday - if there's a discrepancy between the book and the markings, the markings govern.
Scoring is done via Udisc. You shouldn't need a password, just go to "events" on your app.
We've divided people into Red/Red, Blue/Red, and Blue/Blue, based roughly on past pdga results. If you'd rather play a different layout just let us know today or tomorrow and we'll easily change you. Scoring doesn't matter for much other than pride, as all of our prizes will be given out via random draw.
We’ve generated divs/cards now, so you can review them; but we’ll formally finalize cards on Udisc Friday at 9pm, so make sure you've alerted us to change your division by then if you intend to do so. If you message us, we can also try to accommodate some card requests, but as we're set up we're limited to keeping only one division per card. The night round will be auto-generated based on results from the first round.
BBQ will be set up near Reid's parking lot, with our delicious Ultimate burgers and combos again! (Also, we heard your feedback from ESO, and now have a veggie option). Please bring cash. Also, bring your own chairs if you’d like.
The rounds start at 4pm sharp, and 8pm, with the food planned to be ready for 6. That interval also gives us time to go out and nicely light up the baskets/tees, for an exciting night round! For those who purchased lights, we'll have them ready and lit for you during that break as well.
Players meeting will be brief, at 3:30, as the caddy book should be clear. As for players packs, everyone gets a beautiful disc and a pair of sunglasses (and great odds at a bunch of door prizes); discs will be FIRST COME FIRST SERVED starting at precisely 3pm. Door prizes will be at conclusion of round 2.
This is an unsanctioned tourney, but we expect people to still follow PGDA rules; ask us or your card if you have any questions. Also, this is a public park, so usual alcohol prohibitions apply - if we see it, that's a problem. Be responsible. We haven't had any issues with the encampments in the area, but if there is any doubt, simply stay clear, take relief, and let us know.
We're looking forward to a fun day! Good luck!
