EVENT DETAILS:
We will be playing a round of the standard 18 hole layout, followed by a short break of about 30 minutes, and then a "Final 9" of the front nine holes. After the Final 9, there will be Player Awards and some side games for extra prizes (details below).
Tournament Central will be located at the pavilion by Hole 1's tee. Player Packs will be able to be received from 9 - 9:40 am to give players a chance to feel and throw the discs if they desire. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WATERMELON HEX ADD ON IS NOT A PLAYER PACK DISC AND CANNOT BE USED DURING THE EVENT!!!!
At 9:40 there will be a quick Player's Meeting to cover rules and OBs. Groups will then be formed of 4-6 players and then will be assigned a starting hole. Players will then head out to the course to begin their rounds, playing all 18 holes. After the final group returns, 25-30 minutes will be given before the start of the 2nd round. The 2nd round will feature only the front nine holes of the course and groups will play with the same groups as their first round. Once the Final 9 is completed, overall scores will be tallied and winners in both divisions will be crowned MVP Circuit Challenge Champions!!! Awards will be given to the top 5 in each division, with the following breakdown:
1st Place - 3 discs
2nd Place - 2 discs
3rd Place - 1 disc
4th Place - 1 disc
5th Place - 1 disc
1st Place in each division will select first, followed by 2nd, and so on.
After the Awards, we will have a couple of side games for some additional prizes. These prizes will be discs provided by MVP, as with all other awards discs and prizes. The side games are below:
Ring of Fire Putting Game
Accuracy Throw Bullseye Game
(possibly more to come)
We will also have at least 5 All-Day CTPs that will also include disc prizes. These will be on holes on the front 9 so that players get 2 chances to win. The holes for this will be 2, 3, 4, 7, and 9. We may add on another or two, depending on prizes that are supplied.
I am also offering a $2 ace fund. If no ace is hit, a throw off for the money will occur after the Final 9 while final scores are being tallied. Players must buy in to this ace fund before the first round starts if they want to be included and entry is CASH ONLY.
I may have another surprise or two and will update as the week goes on. Player Packs should be here tomorrow and I will have a better idea of all that was sent then.
Please keep in mind that this event is geared to be more casual then competitive. It's intended to help grow the game and the MVP brand in our community. Most of all, let's have fun and enjoy throwing some new discs!!!
Thanks to all the players who have signed up to support this event. All proceeds are going directly to the Lake County Disc Golf Club and I will report back the final tally once everything is completed.
