To have a 735 rated player playing against a 935, even in the age protected divisions, is not fair... 735 vs 835 is fair. 735 vs 900... hmmm? Not sure why PDGA does not adjust this, as so many of their rules are attached to such careful , well thought out details on so many other their rules . As a player, the rounds played against others with closer grouping of strokes, is a much more fun and satisfying round, played competitively, than playing against leaders that are down 15 strokes, similar to the scores of Pros. Not sure of the rationale used for determining Amatuer rating limits, other than just saying go challenge yourself as if a 735 player isn't already challenging themself playing against 835, let alone 935.
