I have to say, I find myself in the same boat. Would appreciate honesty about the mission! I too, was swindled by this event. I even sponsored a hole! I love disc golf with all my heart, and don't support the idea of using our wonderful sport as bait to lure people to Christianity. Thanks for the research, Jesse, I will do more research on the goal of my charity events in the future. Had a fun event and played with some wonderful folks, but would have appreciated honesty about the intention behind placing DG courses in Zambia.

Thanks, Jesse and Nate, for reaching out and sharing your concerns. I humbly apologize. There was no intent of swindling or deceiving. Yes, Eagles Wings is a Christian organization and does a lot to share Jesus with others. HOWEVER, the Zambia Open is not one of those events. The Zambia Open is simply about spreading and sharing the joy of disc golf with those that wouldn’t otherwise get to play. I understand how it came across in another way, and I apologize.

It was still a great event and it was wonderful meeting you. I think Jesse and I would both agree that we can do a better job of understanding the true mission when playing in a charity event. The only thing I would ask is more transparency in the description of the event. If the money from the event is going directly towards building/maintaining a course in Zambia that is fully open to the public (read: everyone), I would 100% say it was still money well spent. I know that we all share the goal of democratizing the sport and introducing others to it!
