Hey all - today marks the halfway point for the Spring session. I have a few very important messages that I'd like all of you to read. There are some valid complaints that I want to bring to everyone's attention.
Cutting In Line: Check-in is first-come, first-serve. Last week someone who was 6th in line ended up being skipped by at least a dozen people cutting in line to be by their card-mates. This isn't fair to those who show up early to get their rounds started. If your card-mate is in line already, they are allowed to pay for you with their own money and then you can pay them back when you do arrive. It's hard for me to keep track of this with 80+ players checking in over the hour, so please be respectful here.
Groups of 5: As of this week I am going to ban groups of 5. With how large our league attendance is, I've had multiple people come talk to me about how they were stuck behind a large group. That said, groups of 3 or 4 only.
Scores and Divisions: Sussex is one of the hardest courses in the area to develop consistent divisions for. Any given week, a player from any division can shoot the round of their life. This is why it's more common than I'd like that someone in Advanced can shoot double digits and someone in Intermediate and Recreational can shoot Advanced scores. All this to say, next session I'm going to be re-evaluating scores and coming up with a better solution for divisions. I'm going to be adding a 5th mixed division and throwing players in where I think they'd be most competitive. I'll share that sheet before Week 1 of the Summer session so that everyone can see what I'm thinking and message me to work things out. I want each division to truly be competitive for everyone.
Payment: Singles and $5 bills are always appreciated. If you have a larger bill that you need to pay with, I ask that you let a few people check-in first so I can make better change.
