What a crazy way to start the Pelham Tuesday League 2023! We had 100 player last night for Week 1 of league and we managed to stay dry for the round despite the rain during check in. Things got very hectic as I tried to get cards out quickly, to be able to play as many holes with daylight as possible, and I forgot to mention some things so here they are now:
For those who don't know me, I am Bryant Chamberlin and I should be the one checking people in at the table 99% of the time. Dicky Smart will be assisting me at the table occasionally as well.
I would also like to pre-apologize if I forget names even though I've met most of you before. Checking in 100 people my brain just kinda shuts done sometimes lol. Also, pre-apologizing for mispronouncing names, I'll do my best to get them all by the end of the year.
Tags will be ordered asap and will be handed out as soon as I get them in.
Thank you to Vijay Kakkad for all the years you've put into this league to make it the largest active league in the area. Vijay's Program that he built specifically for league and the integration into Disc Golf Scene makes things so much easy. Vijay will still be around for the season but he is taking a slightly less active role individual league rounds due to his work schedule.
Big THANK YOU to our primary league sponsor, Breakin Chains Disc Golf Supplies for continuing to support us and donating hundreds each year towards year end prizes. Make sure to visit the fully stocked Breakin Chains Disc Golf stores in Manchester, Nashua and Dover.
Also, Huge Thank You to Tony Martello for the work he has done on the Tee signs and other course improvements. He asked for a minute to say something to everyone last night but in my rush to get everyone out to holes that is definitely something that slipped my mind so next Tuesday Tony will have some time to talk. The new Tee signs look Fantastic!
The league is primarily run through DiscGolfScene with "UDisc League" as supplementary tool to gather stats, verify the Birdie Pot holes and to have a Live score so everyone know how everyone is doing. Checking in at the table before the round is imperative to ensure that you are put onto a card. If you do not check in at the table we will not know that you are there. Also, turning in score at the table is a MUST so that we can get them into Vijay's Program so that they can be uploaded to DGS in a timely manner. In general I should have results posted early Wednesday morning if not as soon as I get home Tuesday night. You will also need to check in on UDisc on the events tab and who ever is keeping score should do so from the league page. We did pretty well on that last night only 1 Cards was not kept on the league page and I am working on getting that into UDisc after I finish writing this book.
Check DGS to ensure that it is properly linked to the correct E-Mail address and spelling of Names are correct.
Please pay attention to the CTP holes when they are announced during hole assignments. If you are starting on a hole with a CTP please bring the Flag out. most of the flags were left behind last night and the was a quick scramble to get them out to the appropriate holes. If you end on a hole with a CTP please bring the flag back to the table with your scores.
If you are Donating a CTP prize try to let me know as early as possible (anytime the day) so we are not scrambling to get a flag ready at 525 when we are trying to get hole assignments out.
I think that's it for housekeeping stuff.
No Aces were hit last night, so the $54 Ace pot rolls forward.
The Birdie Pot Holes were 3, 4, 11, 15 Which no one hit (Fred Lusky and Noah Proctor both only missing 11, and Josh Graning only Missing 4) $37 rolls forward.
Ca$h CTP on Hole 1 was taken by Evan Moe for $54.
Donated CTPs:
Joe White Donated a Force for Hole 4 won by Kris Wiley
Shane Piroso / Chains Eye Candy Donated a Dyed Justice for hole 7 won by Fred Lusky
Union Square Disc Golf donated a Lift for Hole 12 won by Nate Shell
Hot Rounds:
We had a 4 way tie at 4th between Noah Proctor, Ken Marshall, John Raikos and Matt Eldredge shooting -4 (52),
Mike Byrne 3rd place with a -5 (51).
Danny Moynihan 2nd Place with a -6 (50
and coming out shooting hot round -7 (49) Josh Graning!
Great shooting everyone and thanks for coming. We will have more daylight soon! See you next Tuesday!
