It's Woodlands Walleye Run week! I can't wait to see you all out at Woodlands Park this Saturday! As of now, the weather is forecasted to be BEAUTIFUL for disc golf! A stark contrast to the blustery Maumee River Open that we hosted last November.
A few notes to pass along:
1. MPO/MP40/MA1/MA2/FPO will be playing the Long Tees on Holes 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 12. This includes all permanent concrete long tees and the temporary grass long tees that we used for the Maumee River Open last year. We are still expecting the City of Perrysburg to pour concrete tees eventually where these grass tees will be, but they will not be poured before the tournament unfortunately. The Woodlands Walleye Run Longs and Shorts layouts are both available now on UDisc. Check it out at your convenience. The layouts also include the previously mentioned temporary holes (A & B).
2. We are excited to announce that the fine folks of the GAS Disc Golf club have sponsored Hole 14 and will be turning it into an ISLAND HOLE with flags marking the perimeter of the island. A drop zone will also be clearly marked. The perimeter of the island will roughly be the size of Circle 1. For more information on GAS Disc Golf, visit their website:
https://gasdiscgolf.org/
3. Please DO NOT park on the grass anywhere at Woodlands Park. The City of Perrysburg has asked that I pass the message along to all participants. The main parking lot near Hole 1 will absolutely fill up for the tournament. If you pull in, and the main lot is full, please use the church/lacrosse parking lot behind hole 12. Check the pictures section of this DiscGolfScene page for the additional parking lot location if you're unfamiliar.
4. Check-in, tournament central, and pro shop functions will all take place inside of the main shelter, as we have paid to rent that out for the day. The location of this shelter is also clearly marked on the picture I'm including in the pictures section of the DGS page.
If you have any questions at all leading up to the event, or even on the event day, please feel free to drop a message here, email [email redacted], or text me at 419-290-1025.
Thanks,
Joel
