Hi Ben, thanks for your feedback... we are planning a fun event at a brand new location, with the possibility of building a relationship with the property to hopefully plan a more permanent course there. There is a big undertaking to host a new location and hook up the players at the same time. We have made some final revisions, and hope that you will come and enjoy the event with us.

Hi Shaun, thanks for the info. Will there be a breakdown of the registration fees and what they go towards? Like how much is it for greens fees at the course for the tournament? How are the fees being used to develop this relationship with the property beyond the dates of this tournament?

I'd love to support the UFOS in getting funds to support the development of a new course but not interested in another players pack. Very few are signing up for a tournament because the player pack, regardless of what is in it. Instead, a reasonably priced registration fee should include a simple player pack with a tournament stamped disc as this goes a long way. Some of us have acquired enough koozies, mini markers, pins, t-shirts, and towels and are concerned that it's just acquiring more stuff that we don't need and wouldn't have bought otherwise if it wasn't already included in the players pack. Would love to have some of these things as "add-ons" that could be selected during registration. Allowing people to opt-in to some of these things would help keep the registration fees lower meaning more people could play. A lower barrier to entry does more to grow the sport that growing the swag bag does.

Hey Ben, appreciate you being vocal and providing feedback. We do our best to budget properly and use funds that our tournaments generate to drive growth of the sport, including but not limited to, new course funding, current course maintenance, and other logistics that it takes to run the non-profit. I agree that lower cost to entry is one strategy, and we do this for many of the local tourneys. However, this is our 27th Annual ProAm, so the intent is to provide a fun annual event that people will remember. It is not about the koozies or swag, it is about the experience, and the memorabilia is intended to be a reminder of the awesome event. In our club meetings we have been highlighting the use of various funds generated, such as school donations, charity donations, work parties, club community events, and many other stuff.
