I want to thank Medina for creating this very deserving event. I would like to suggest that you consider taking this one step further and ask the city of Medina to name the course the "Leroy Jenkins Memorial Disc Golf Course". It would still be Roscoe-Ewing and Sam Masi Parks, but the course would be renamed. There is precedence set in Canton where the course at Arboretum Park is named the Robert E Miller Disc Golf Course after a former park employee who was instrumental in in getting disc golf in Canton.
I would do it but since I don't live or pay taxes there, my opinion means little to the city. If some Medina-ite is interested in pursuing that, I would recommend starting up a petition, maybe on the Medina Club page on DiscGolfScene where people could sign on electronically. My guess would be that it would crash the website.
I would be willing to make new tee signs graphics and a course map with the new name.
Not sure how long it would take for any approval, but if it is started now, you might be able to get approval and use this tournament as the dedication ceremony.
Any thoughts or volunteers?
