Players,
Tyler A-Holes 8 is a PDGA B-Tier event at Tyler State Park DGC in Newtown PA Saturday 3/18. This is a two round event where you will play both EAST (1-18) & WEST (19-36) courses.
All players must sign in before 9am. Each division signs in and starts from a different parking lot.
PURPLE starts at Boardwalk
GREEN starts at Hickory Nut
RED starts at Mill Dam
WHITE starts at Upper Plantation
BLUE starts at Lower Plantation
Starting holes have been posted at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/65928
In the morning check again your starting hole to confirm nothing has changed. Changes should be very unlikely and only if absolutely needed.
Amateur Players Pack includes four items, one item from each category
Chachkie ($1 to $3 value)
Regular Item ($3 to $8 value)
Average Item ($8 to $15 value)
Premium Item ($15 and up value)
You get your players pack before round 1. If for some reason you do not get your players pack before round 1 then all your choices are forefeet and you get 4 items of TDs choice that you can get at the end of the event.
Each card must have two people keeping score. One person must keep score via the PDGA website and another person any other way you want. Udisc is a common way for the second person to keep score.
We have set up layouts on the PDGA site. PDGA.comscores code tyler
Some cards may have 3 people; if it is time to start and you only have 1 or 2 people you cannot start; wait where you are for the next group and play with them keeping scores separate. The person who does not show up gets par plus four for every hole they miss.
For round 2 we are inevitably going to have people not at their starting hole when START is yelled. If a player is not present at the hole when START is yelled then they missed that hole and take PAR+4 on that hole. You will have 1 hour from last card on your course finishes. Starting times will be posted as a comment in DiscGolfScene under comments for the event. EAST course and WEST course will likely have different start times.
Hand sanitizer is available for your use before you touch any merchandise in the store.
Keep an eye on where you land. You only get 3 minutes to search for your disc before it is officially lost.
Bring plenty of water; and this may be a good time for this year to wear sunscreen & bug spray.
Projected payouts can be found at https://www.pdga.com/apps/tournament/manager/payouts_projected?TournID=65928
The exact numbers will change but this will give you an idea of what to expect; if people drop from your division, then the payout will be less.
The B.S. Bochantin Upshot store will be open during the event starting between rounds till the end at Mill Dam parking lot (hole 15). We accept cash, venmo, & paypal.
BRIA store will be set up all day at pavilion by hole 1.
At most events we typically run an unwanted disc swap. We are NOT doing any disc swapping this weekend! We are not even bringing any used discs for sale either.
For any first-place tie breaker playoffs they will be throwing the standard LONG layout. The playoff will have standard course OB and Mandos!
PURPLE playoff will start on hole 16
GREEN playoff will start on hole 14
RED playoff will start on hole 20
WHITE playoff will start on hole 23
BLUE playoff will start on hole 36
Water will be available at Holes 1, 15, 19, & 28. DO NOT leave empty plastic water bottles!!!
Course Notes:
No two-meter rule; no special island rules. Everything is standard PDGA rules. Hole 25 does not have any special ‘island’ rules, road and outside are relief areas.
For the entire event there is NO OB, and NO Mandos. Normal road and across or creek and across is relief area. A Relief area is treated just like OB minus the penalty stroke.
Hole 3 tee from cement temp tee to B basket. PAR 2
Hole 8 tee from temp tee
Hole 11 tee from newest short tee (which is not the ultra-shortest)
Hole 14 tee from flagged area by drop zone (DZ)
Hole 18 tee from flagged area by drop zone (DZ)
Hole 22 tee from temp tee
Hole 24 tee from shortest tee; the oldest tiny tee
Hole 29 tee from temp tee to B basket. PAR 2
Hole 31 tee from temp tee on right in rough
Hole 34 tee from road marked by chalk
This is my 100th PDGA event as a Tournament Director (TD). Every ace is work $100 instead of the $50 originally advertised. We have two holes that are PAR 2s, these do NOT count toward the ace pot.
Tip your TD as Venmo @BSUpshot or paypal [email redacted] if you so desire.
