Thank you very much for attending Six Sided Discs’ BYOP Doubles today!

We’re sending this message because we feel we’ve made a mistake.

Where we went wrong
While our event was unsanctioned and doesn’t fall under PDGA guidelines, we understand many players attend events with expectations that come from how PDGA payouts work.

As a business, we made the decision to pay ourselves a portion of the entry fee, which is not allowed when hosting PDGA sanctioned events.

Our mistake was not fully communicating the total payout amount to all of you in advance.

What we’re doing to fix it
We’re sending a partial refund of $5 for each player to apologize for our mistake.

The refund will be sent to the PayPal account used to pay your team’s entry fee.

If we could start over
We would set clear expectations on the registration page on how much is available to payout.

Tournament directors are usually unpaid volunteers. We believe this is not sustainable and that part of disc golf’s growth relies on events like these.
Tournament directors, whether individuals, clubs or businesses, cannot continue to provide this service for free, or in many instances, at a loss.

We hope you will consider attending one of our events in the future.

We’re committed to making this right and setting clear expectations moving forward.

Despite this mistake, we had a great time today and we hope that you all did to!
