Good Evening Players,
It is with great relief and pleasure that I announce that as of today, all new teepads at Cypress Point Park have been poured. I want to thank all of you for your patience with this. If I would have known it would have been the 9th hour before they were completed, I would have never moved forward with using Cypress. Our expectation, as it was communicated to us multiple times, was that the city could "easily" complete the project prior to the end of January. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you all.
Now that we are a full go, there are some important announcements / rules I need everyone to understand at Cypress.
1.) Bathrooms: Obviously the bathroom situation at Cypress is not ideal. The permanent bathroom is roughly .3 miles from hole one, which makes it almost a full mile from hole 14. To accommodate, there will be two portable toilets on site, one at TC and one on hole 9. Gentlemen, please be courteous of your lady competitors and don't embarrass us as a species by making a disaster of those bathrooms.
2.) Pad Assignments: Pad assignments remain unchanged. The only adjustments are that all divisions are playing from the short pad on 4 and 8. This is for pace of play and flow purposes. Hole #4 from the long averaged 7.1 strokes during our flex in October. . . not ideal for our event. LADIES - Your ladies only layout is now all shorts, plus hole 6 long.
3.) Hole 12 and 13 changes: As we have communicated, we are losing the current hole 12 teepad. There is now a big orange X painted on it and a sign indicating that it is no longer in use. The new Long and Short pads are poured and ready for play further down 12s fairway. The basket has been moved back to its original long position. "Old Hole 13s" teepad is also no longer in play, has a big orange X painted on it and a sign indicating that it is no longer in use. Instead, there are arrows that direct you from hole 13s old pad, to the new pad back up the fairway towards the general direction of hole 12s short pad. Please follow the arrows, it will keep you out of 12s fairway. The basket has moved as well and is at the end of the tunnel that is created by the new pad location.
