Kevin L Powell Jan 18, 2023Higher tiers are commonly more expensive, and usually have higher payouts.
Aaron Waggoner Jan 18, 2023I have played many B-tiers and they are typically no more than $50 (often less). Just shocked at the $75 amount. We don't have tournaments that cost that much in northern Indiana

I have noticed a lot of tournaments this year are charging on average roughly $20 more for registration. I would guess that the cost invested, time spent, cost of making specialty printed discs/towels for player packs, etc are the root cause. Inflation, it's a pain all across the board. But Kevin also is correct that majority of higher tiers are more expensive.

Aaron, our entry fees are the same as last year's events. Our C-Tiers are a little cheaper. Our B-Tier Payouts are typically around 125% for amateur divisions. The PDGA standard is 100% payouts for B-Tiers. We feel we provide well run events and great value back to the players. We understand if you choose not to play our events due to the higher than average entry fee.
Kevin L Powell Jan 19, 2023Also Aaron, there is a prize on every hole (CTP or LP), so there are a lot of opportunities for prizes. Shea and Great Lakes Disc always puts on a great tournament.
Aaron Waggoner Jan 19, 2023Appreciate the feedback. I'm still interested. Never played a tournament at Oshtemo, so would like to give it a try. Will just have to convince myself to cough double the money I'm used to
