Gopher Disc Golf Spring League 2023
The Gopher Disc Golf Club will be hosting the Gopher DIsc Golf League
starting March 5, 2023 and running through May 7, 2023. The league
matches will be held at Waldron Disc Golf Course, Ingleside Red Disc Golf
Course and Rockport DIsc Golf Course on Sunday at 3:45 pm each week.
League finals will be held at Waldron park on May 14, 2023. Anyone can play
the individual mini’s in this league, but if you want to be eligible for the End of
Season payout and the Ace Pot, you must be a member of the Gopher Disc
Golf Club.
Membership for the Gopher Disc Golf Club can be obtained by purchasing a
Gopher DIsc Golf Club 2023 Bag Tag Bottle opener. There is a limited number
(50) of Bag Tag Bottle openers, so see Howard Jones as soon as possible to get
yours.
Once a member of the Gopher Disc Golf Club, you are now eligible for the
Gopher Ace Pot at any Gopher Mini. In order to qualify for the End of League payout, you must
participate in 6 of the 10 minis and be in the top 10 of points gatherers in your division. The Gopher
Mini Tournament will be hosted at the 3 courses listed above in an alternating manner, but 5 of the minis
will be hosted at Waldron park. The other 5 will be split between Ingleside Red and Rockport.
Gopher 2023 Bag Tag Bottle openers are $20 each. What does that get you? And Where does the
money go? Membership makes you eligible for the Ace Pot in every Gopher Mini as well as a chance at
competing for the league’s end of the season payout. Of the $20 for the bag tag, $5 goes to the end of
season payout for the first league of the year and the remaining $15 goes to the Gopher disc golf Clu 0pb
to pay back the cost of the tags and for course maintenance and basket and tee pad upgrades for
Waldron park. The End of the Season Payouts will be paid in cash.
Entry for the individual minis will be $10. How does the Money break down? Of the $10, $5 goes to
payout that day, $3 goes into the Ace Pot and $2 to the end of season payout. There will be no
mulligans during league play. If the Ace pot does not get hit, it will rollover to the next Gopher league.
There will only be 2 divisions in league play: Open and Ams. Points will be determined by the number
of participants in each division. One point is awarded for each participant in each division. For example,
if there are 10 participants, then 1st place will earn 10 points and last place will earn 1 point. Points will
change based on the number of participants in each division. We will take the 6 highest results from
league play over the 10 week period to determine the finalists. The top 10 points earners will then be
invited to participate in the Finals on May 14, 2023 and get to play for the cash payout. If you choose to
jump divisions, know that your points earned in that division will not follow you to the other division.
You must have an activated UDisc app as all scorekeeping for the league will be done through UDisc.
After each mini, the statistics and standings will be transferred to a google docs spreadsheet to which
you will have access.
