There was a total of 19 league members who bought in full for the December Poker Game, leaving the pot at $95 thus far.
The format is a standard 5-Card poker game, with no Wilds or draws. The 5 cards each player gets will be their final hand and the best Poker hand will take the entire pot. For Weeks 1-3, players will draw 1 card. For the final week, each player will draw 2 cards to complete their 5-card hand.
Even if you missed week 1, you will still be able to join in for the final 4 weeks. But this will earn you a possible 4 of 5 cards, as there is not back draw in play. With a pot close to $100, a $4 investment may be worth it.
Please keep in mind that cards are drawn at the end of league each night. For week 1, cards were (primarily) drawn in order of best score to worst score of those entered. As in years past, we will reverse this for week 2, with the lowest scores pulling first. Each week this will change to keep it fair for all players. Essentially, the order of cards to be drawn is:
Week 1 -- Highest to Lowest Score
Week 2 -- Lowest to Highest Score
Week 3 -- Highest to Lowest Score
Week 4 -- Lowest to Highest Score
Week 5 (if necessary) -- Highest to Lowest Score
I will have print outs each week for your current hands and you can see them when requested. The goal is to not know other hands, so each individual will have their own personal sheet with their current hand.
The format for the 3 months games is also below for reference:
December Poker -- 5 Card Poker (No Wilds or Draws)
January Poker -- 5 Card Poker (Jokers and 3 Wilds Cards in play)
February Poker -- Texas Hold Em (with Community 3 card flop)
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions to keep this interesting.
