Sorry for the question, just curious why the waitlist charges the full price now, just to refund it months later if we do not get in? Most do not charge it until they get moved from the waitlist. I’m wondering if this might signify the waitlist will all get in? Sep 24, 2022

In my experience half take full payment now and the others don’t. TD discretion. Most likely based on the TD’s past experience with that specific tournaments waitlist. I always think I have a better chance of getting in if they charge full price to get on the waitlist.

Thanks for the question. Technology does make things easy to bill partial and then bill the remainder after you get in the event, but like most good things, a few people spoil it for most. Some people get in off the waitlist and don’t pay the balance due when prompted. It becomes an additional unnecessary chore for the TD.
Since I’ve been running the events I cycle through 50+ waitlist players per event and it’s way easier for us to refund, than to track down unpaid funds from people who get in.
