The BLUE course is supposed to be all available gray baskets, right? So I shouldn’t have to change the baskets, right? I noticed that several holes still only show the white basket positions, but par is the same: #5, 13, 16, and #17. Hole #14 is the only hole that par changes with the gray basket.

Thanks! Do I have to change baskets on phone before each hole? I usually don’t use my phone to keep score; I use my watch, and changing baskets is not an option on my watch. Sounds like a lot of extra work on my phone during the round.

I can see the smart layout being useful at JRP where the ONE basket can change, but why not have a full 18 layout with the permanent gray baskets and the white baskets where there are no gray baskets? I’m just trying to think of a way to keep score accurately without having to look at my phone.

Udisc is phasing out all layouts except smart layouts. I don’t know about the whole watch thing but yes it’s primarily set to the gold layout because that’s what most people play. If you play nay gray basket you have to change the target. Regardless though if you know the par the total is all you need to really look at.

Smart layouts are useful with multiple positions as well. Take central for example. People like to mix it up so odds short evens long, or front short back long. As you can see there could be multiple combinations doesn’t make sense to make a layout for every single combination that can be played when you can just get on your phone and change the target/tee for whichever way you wish to play it with a tap of a button.
