excessive rain or hazardous conditions exist that make it impractical or dangerous to continue play, the tournament shall be suspended. The signal to suspend play shall be made in the same fashion as the signal to start, but using three short blasts. Tournament play is suspended immediately and the course is evacuated if lightning enters a 15 mile radius and the cell appears to be heading in the direction of the course. If the lightning cell is tracking parallel to the course and does not enter a 10 mile radius, tournament play is not suspended. If the edge of the cell enters the 10 mile radius, then tournament play is suspended immediately and the course is evacuated. Lightning strikes within 15 miles will not trigger suspension of play if the eye of the storm has moved past tournament location and arcing strikes are not within 10 miles.
