Hey everybody. Only a few weeks out from this year's Summer Slam! Just reaching out to provide an update on the course, share raffle details, and remind everyone about special hotel rates we have for the weekend.
If you're local to the area or have looked on uDisc, you know that Iwen Park has had a lot of flooding this year. I walked the course yesterday, and am confident we will be able to proceed with having the event there. Holes along the river like 1, 2, and 4 may not be dry enough to play, but we still have plenty of space to create an 18 hole layout that will challenge all skill levels. The layout will be finalized a week before the event, and will be mapped on uDisc. Out of bounds and hole information will be made available no later than Thursday the 16th.
Thanks to everyone that made a donation to the ND Autism Center when they signed up. We've already raised $400! For every $10 donated, you get an entry into our raffle that will be held Saturday after round 1. We have a lot of great prizes, which include a Latitude 64 E4 bag, a signed Sexton Shootout poster, Dynamic Discs Paratrooper Bag, 1/2 of the ace pot if no aces are hit (or $50 if an ace is hit), Halo Polecat, 2021 USDGC Roc, and 2022 Ezra Aderhold Nuke. Whoever makes the largest donation will win a Dynamic Discs Marksman basket (largest donation is currently $50). If multiple people have donated the same amount, a tiebreaker will be held to determine a winner (contest TBD). You can still buy raffle tickets at the event, or you can also go back to your disc golf scene registration email and edit your registration to add more tickets.
Last thing is a reminder that we have negotiated rates at several hotels in the area. Even if you don't stay at one of these hotels, please let me know if you are staying in a hotel while you are here. Tracking this information helps us obtain more financial assistance for future events, and also shows our community the demand for disc golf tournaments in our area.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. I look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks!
