The way they have it worded this year: "One other notable change will be the registration process. Unprecedented demand last year led to some challenges and this was a very important one to address. As you can see on the attached flyer, 2022 is "Win and you're in." First place qualifying teams can register for the main event right away. Second and third place teams (at events with enough participation) will be able to register starting after the final qualifiers take place in September. We've also got gold, silver, and bronze medals to differentiate those podium finishes. Important note! 2nd and 3rd place qualifying teams are not guaranteed a spot in the main event. We are doing our best to balance the increased demand with event capacity. Please do your best to make this clear to your players and help manage expectations. "
