810 Interference D. It is a violation if a player or their equipment interferes with the course of their own thrown disc. The throw and one penalty throw are counted in the player's score; the player continues play from the previous lie. Any other penalty throws incurred by the throw are disregarded. If a throw is interfered with by request of the thrower, that is considered the same as a player interfering with their own throw.

Seeing as this is doubles...I read that as if my partner has me be a back stop and he asks me to stop it from going in to the water, his throw receives the one stroke penalty if I touch it. But since it is doubles we can still use my lie without that penalty. Just like if my partner goes OB but my lie is in bounds we don't have to take an OB penalty stroke. This we discussed on our card today too. No one touched another's disc but it could have happened.
