We are about 2 weeks away from the 2022 edition of the Hoosier Hoser at Shoaff
Park on Saturday, April 9th. I am excited to see all the work pay off.
Full Circle Grill & BBQ will have a food truck on site to simplify your experience
so you will not need to leave for lunch if you don't want to. I will reserve parking for them.
The parking lot will be FULL. Once it is, please park in the areas marked on the map with a Red
line and be aware to stay away from the greens and fairways on the Temp Course.
I am planning on having day-of check in divided into divisional lines again to speed up the process.
There will be a CTP on every hole of the event (46 total). Some will be division specific.
One CTP on each course will be a cash CTP. These cash CTPs are only open to the teams
that signed up for the optional 50/50. If your team did not sign up for the 50/50 or the Ace
Fund, you can still do so at registration. They are $5 each/team. All CTPs that are not division
specific or 50/50 are open to everyone without extra fees.
We will be playing best-shot for both rounds and only utilizing Red tees. Considering the amount of players
in this event (276 players means 6-somes on every hole), I have divided the field into 2 pools.
A pool will be MPO, MP40, MA1, & MA2. B Pool will be AMW, MXAM, MA40, MA50,
& MA3. With this large of a field, it may be necessary to mix divisions on a card here and there like
we generally do. If Necessary, the 1st round mixed cards would be comprised of the teams that switched divisions
since sign-up and the teams that got in off the wait list. The 2nd round mixed division cards would be based on scores
from the first round.
A Pool will start on the 22-hole temp course.
B pool will start on the 24-hole permanent course.
Pools will switch courses after lunch.
We will be attempting to use U-Disc live scoring for this event for the first time ever,
so there could be some hiccups. Dave Walters is in charge of this and has done some prep work
planning to get it working properly. I appreciate all
of his efforts. Live scoring should make the event run faster and smoother. We will
also be using paper scorecards and leaderboards to help facilitate this as a back-up.
We plan on having the club's merchandise available for sale during the event.
I will soon be looking for an army of volunteers to help pull off this event.
IMPORTANT: I have been getting quite a few changes lately from players needing to switch
partners or divisions. I understand that people get hurt, things change, and teams need to drop out.
Please try not to make any changes after April 3rd. I need time to prep for this huge event and teams
on the wait list need time to know they are now in the tournament.
Thank you,
Brian Miller (TD of the Hoosier Hoser)
