The purpose of the DGNEGA Bag Tag challenge is to encourage new and seasoned disc golfers to engage in friendly bag tag rounds.
Rules of Engagement
1. Members who “posses a current Bag Tag in hand” may issue/schedule/participate in challenge(s).
2. Any member with a higher Bag Tag number may challenge any player with a lower Bag Tag number within the current “ladder challenge” spaces, to a round of disc golf.
3. Ladder Challenge spaces are based on the number of current members. Challenge spaces will be as follows; 1-10 members = 1 space, 11-20 members = 2 spaces, 21-30 members = 3 spaces, 31-40 members = 4 spaces, 41-50 members = 5 spaces, etc.
4. Bag Tags should be visible on your bag at all times. Members cannot avoid challenges by leaving the Bag Tag at home or by concealing your Bag Tag (see forfeiture).
5. Challenges may be made in person, by telephone or e-mail. When a challenge via telephone or e-mail has been accepted, neither player can participate in Casual challenges until the agreed upon match has taken place. The challenger chooses which course for the challenge.
6. The player receiving the challenge must make a “fair and reasonable” effort to be available within 1 week.
7. If the challenger cannot agree to a reasonable time or date for the match within the coming week, the challenge is void and both players may look for new challenges.
8. Once the challenge has been agreed upon, any changes must be agreed upon otherwise a forfeiture may occur.
9. If the challenger has the lowest score for the round, the tags must be exchanged immediately following the round.
10. Once the challenge has been played, results must be reported via whatever means necessary to Rock at 406-209-2119, so that the current rankings can be changed to reflect the challenge.
Automatic Challenges (AC)
• Automatic challenge occur during any Singles League or Tournament for all DGNEGA Bag Tag holder(s) participating and playing the same course and layout.
• The challenge does not need to be publicly announced or agreed upon before the start of the round–it is automatic!
• Members may not deny this challenge.
At all singles leagues and tournaments, tags will be surrendered to any Club Staff member and will be returned by score order after the tournament. Basically, any singles tournament is automatically a Bag Tag tournament for ALL club members in attendance.
Casual Round Challenges (CRC)
DGNEGA members may casually meet at a course OR agree to meet at a course/time to compete for bag tags with-in the ladder challenge in:
• Head-to-Head (me vs. you) challenges.
• Group Challenges, where multiple players each put a Bag Tag at stake during the group round.
• Members may not deny a challenge and then proceed to play a round (see forfeiture).
•. Any Bag Tag holder can announce a course and time they are playing and put their Bag Tag “up for grabs”. Any Bag Tag holder can show up and participate in this “up for grabs” challenge. Each participant will surrender their Bag Tag at the start of the round and Tags will be redistributed after the round based on the final scores. Any ties will be broken via CTP.
Wins, Ties, and Exchanges
Q: How do I win?
A: The player with the lowest score at the end of the challenge round earns the lowest numbered Bag Tag among the challengers.
Q: I won, when do I receive my winning Bag Tag?
A: Bag Tags must be exchanged immediately following the round.
Q: What happens if we have a tie?
A: In the event of a tie, the player who started with the lowest numbered Bag Tag will be awarded the lowest numbered Bag Tag. This may require some sorting in a group challenge.
Rematches
Challengers who have just won, may, but do not have to accept/schedule a rematch challenge from a player that the s/he just beaten unless one of the following occurs:
1. Either player completes another, separate challenge.
2. One week has passed,
Whichever comes first.
Exception:
Rematches are overridden by automatic challenges that occur during a subsequent round of a multi-round event.
Eligible Tags
Members may only challenge members who posses the DGNEGA Bag Tag; no other Bag Tags are eligible to participate in challenges. You must have your Bag Tag with you to challenge or accept challenges.
Forfeiture
Each Bag Tag belongs to the entire club membership and should be accessible to all club members. Any club member will be required to surrender his/her Bag Tag if:
• He/She is found to be purposely concealing the Bag Tag, especially with a low number.
• Refusing and/or “forgetting” to carry his/her Bag Tag, especially to events where members are “likely” to be present.
• Refusing Automatic Challenges.
• Generally denying Bag Tag access to other members (TBD by 2 or more club officers).
If you lose your Bag Tag, please report it immediately. You may then purchase the next highest number Bag Tag available. Replacement tags, if available, will cost $5.00.
Rules are subject to change and the DGNEGA Board of Directors will decide all disputes. The DGNEGA Board of Directors reserves the right to revoke your Bag Tag at our discretion.
