What is the breakdown of the fee? I know the pdga fee is $1 per round (where half goes to TD, half to PDGA). Curious about the rest since there is no payout. Feb 22, 2022

Great question Mrs. Monahan! I always find this question interesting. No one works for free right? Do shops sell discs at the same price they bought from the manufacturer? Do folks ask the stores how much they paid for the disc and where the money goes? Instead of selling discs we sell PDGA tournament and league experiences. The question projects the perception that folks expect other people to put together fun and enjoyable events for strangers with nothing in return. First Available is not a non profit organization.
Here’s the breakdown. $10 entry which includes bag tag and $2 per round. Each day also had to be sanctioned and paid for separately. Trophies also need to be bought for each division. With extra money we’ve had the privilege of starting and replenishing ace pots so they start at good amounts, given away raffle items, and CTP prizes. In the last six months we’ve also had the opportunity to give away 11 PDGA memberships to Female and Junior players. We will continue to give back to the community in similar ways.
If you’re interested in running a league out of pocket at zero cost to the players I’m happy to walk you through how to get everything setup. Thank you very much for your question. If any others arise please feel free to contact me.
