Your team will have a captain. Together you will submit a starting 5 lineup of which at least one active needs to be <850 rated. For weeks 1 and 2, if any player on the team loses 2 matches, they are permanently eliminated from play for the remainder of the event series. At any time, you can sub-in a player for another. However the subb'd out player is (only) done for the weekend and can return the following weekend(s). The third weekend, the first 2 matches are playoffs followed by the finals. For that weekend, if a player loses any match they are eliminated. So you see - teams will dwindle and making it to the finals will be/should be a big deal. I am curious to see if this idea works out how I suspect. But we are interested in feedback to make this bigger and better.

Still not clear on the reserve players concept. So if player #1 on team #1 loses their first two matches, they are done for the tournament. For weekend #2, does that mean player #6 on team #1 is now active? Or does each team only have 10 match 'chances' to "stay alive"? Also, if the <850 player gets eliminated on team #1 the first week, what happens for the matches in the 2nd week? (Will <850 players be forced to play vs higher rates players on subsequent matches?)

Hi There, Since this thread started to a few days before signup - we updated the elimination concept as we had enough concerns raised about some folks being stuck elminated and watching...so we made it such that a team could be after the second round due to play.
