Hi! I just started playing and it's a blast! I'm interested in learning proper techniques so I can throw further than 20 yards and stop hooking alllll the way left. Are there frisbee golf lessons in the NOVA area? If so, is there a season for them or are they year-round?

There are various folk that offer lessons, such as Matt Hammersten. Join us on Facebook and there are more that can help you. You can join the Nova Women's group too.

There are also various online tutorials (I like the Simon Lizotte ones). https://udisc.com/blog/post/5-great-videos-how-to-throw-in-disc-golf-beginners

Hi Shannon, I am about to post a DG Clinic for sign up. Will announce it shortly. But there will be a Clinic on Dec 11, where we will have 3 pros come out and break it down into stations - Backhand/Forehand and putting and if interested, there will be a throw with the pros event to follow. I should have something posed by this after noon on DGScene.

Thanks for the information, Kim! I sent Matt a message :) And I will definitely check out the online tutorials. I appreciate it!

Rob, that's great! I'm certainly interested. Hopefully it would not be disruptive to have a true beginner there, as I've only played twice so I'm definitely in that category. I have a few friends that I'm sure would love to come as well, so I'll keep an eye out for the posting. Will it be on the facebook group?

Sounds great - hope to see you out there. The pros are really great instructors...and by having three there - we will break down the crowd into groups to keep sizes a bit smaller and offer a little more one on one attention. Should be a solid experience. Just plan to enjoy yourself, and hopefully ... more

Agree with Kim that the best way to learn and get plugged into the community on the NOVA Disc Golf Association Facebook page.
