ABOUT THE FREE STATE FLING’S NAME:
The town of Bloomington is now underwater where Clinton Lake is. Bloomington used to be a stop on the underground railroad for runaway slaves.
DIVISIONS / DATES:
Everyone is playing two rounds on Saturday, October 30th on a shotgun start. Round one hole assignments will be posted sometime Friday evening at the pdga event page. HOWEVER - Please recheck your hole assignments after you check in to make sure they did not change.

LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW
At this point, it is too late to receive a refund. However, if you notify me at 785-764-2229 prior to tee time, you will still receive your player pack for an Am. If you are a Pro and notify me ahead of time that you are withdrawing, while not required of the PDGA I will send you a small gift as a thank you - like a couple of energy bars or something.
To cancel, text or call your name and division, with comment you are cancelling to 785-764-2229.
PARKING -
Please only park in the main course in-between Holes 18-10-1. All other areas could potentially be along an Out of Bounds line and affect play. The one exception is the road to the boat docks in between 16 & 17.
RESTROOMS
The vault toilets at 13/14/18 will be open
CHECK-IN
Check-in is from 8am - 8:40 am at the parking lot near Hole 1. All players, Pro and Am, need to check in. If you don’t check in, I will presume you are a No Call, No Show and you may be scratched from the event.
SCORING
We will be using the PDGA digital scoring system. (This is not Udisc). To access it, go to pdga.com/score. Enter in the password, then your last name or PDGA number, and the card will pull up. I will have paper scorecards as a backup. You can also use udisc as a backup. However, to submit the scores, it needs to be done through the PDGA scoring system.

Hole lengths, pars, and OB rules are listed in the PDGA app while you are keeping score. You can also go to this link to find each course set up here:

COURSE CONDITIONS
Bloomington is mostly cart friendly with the exception of a couple of bridges that have poor transitions and getting to Hole 5’s tee box. There is a shortcut for it though so you don’t have to fully climb the hill with a cart.
AMATEUR PLAYER PACKS
Ams will receive a tournament stamped disc and your choice of a second item (see below).
You can choose one disc from either Innova or Discraft. I would suggest you review and decide on your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice.

WATER
While there will be water coolers on the course I fully expect they will go dry at some point. They will be refilled as soon as possible, but you need to be prepared to bring enough water for yourself. The water on the course is a back-up.
BONUS PRIZES
ROUND ONE PRIZE: If you have the Hot Round of your whole division (not your card, but the whole division) you will get a Hot Round mini. They are not much, only a mini, but the only way you can get one is by having the Hot Round, so it’s kind of cool.
ROUND TWO PRIZE: If you win your card, you win a prize from the white prize box that is called the Toy Box. Typical items are sticker sheets, can coolers, license plate frames, etc.
LUNCH BREAK / ROUND 2
We will have an approximately 1 hour lunch break after the last card is completed before starting round 2. The Clinton Store will be serving a lunch that is tentatively planned to be pulled pork sandwiches, chips, pasta salad and a drink for $10. I would ask that you consider this as it is a family-run store and is the only option for lunch that will assure you to get back in time for round 2. If you try to drive to Lawrence you will likely be late for Round 2.

ACE / CTP FUND
If you paid into the ace fund during registration you are included in this. If you didn’t, you can sign up when you check in if you want to. It costs $5. If neither applies, skip to next section.
Thank you for participating into the Ace Fund. With all Maverick DG events, the Ace fund is paid out as large ticket items and not as cash. This is one of the ways MavDG is ‘maverick’ and it helps to pay for tournament expenses. I determine the payout items so that what is given out is higher than what was paid in so both the winner and the tournament benefits.
PRIZES:
The prizes for the ace pool will be GRIPeq bags. There will be a smoke (gray) BX3 (retails $229) and a pink/gray G2 (retails $99)
Please note: If there is a tie for first place in your division, we may start the CTP game before your playoff is done. I realize that this policy has changed in the past and I’m trying to be consistent with it. If you super duper rather play the CTP game than for the First Place Trophy, you can always forfeit the playoff. I would ask you though - why are you playing in a tournament if not to win the prize of First Place?

On a computer, or mobile browser, under the Registered Players section, you will see your name as registered. Click EDIT and add the ace fund.
AWARDS / PAYOUTS
To decrease the amount of congregation we will not have a formal awards ceremony. I will give the award as soon as the clear winner is determined after the second round. PRO PAYOUTS can be either a check picked up the same day, a check mailed to you, or PayPal Goods and Services (winner pays fees) based on what you chose during registration. AM PAYOUTS can either be the same day with inventory I have on-hand, or you can receive a Gift Card code to redeem via my webstore maverickdiscgolf.com. If you choose the webstore, it will charge you sales tax and shipping. I do have some items in my tournament bins that are not available online, and I have some stuff online that is not available in my tournament bins.
TROPHIES
There is a First Place trophy for all divisions that pre-registered by Thursday (yesterday).
