Good morning everyone,
After several days of discussion, the TDs of the CDO have made the decision to move the entire event to J Park. Moving forward we will be using the J North and J South layout for the event that way we can accommodate the entire field.
There were multiple factors that went into this decision and I have outlined them below. We will look at modifying the course slightly with added OB and a few elevated baskets. Those changes will get finalized shortly and relayed to each of you asap!
We quickly realized that due to the high caliber of the event we are hosting, the original courses selected will not be able to accommodate the field and will not be in the high standards needed to run a successful event. In addition, we are trying to create a massive positive atmosphere that we believe can only be done if all the players compete at the same location.
Luckily enough J Park not only has enough space to accommodate the whole field, but is one of New York’s top Gems and is rated #58 on UDisc. In addition, J Park will provide a variety of skill shots needed to be successful such as tight wooded holes and wide open bomber holes! This years Champions will truly have earned it at this course!
We are aware that this decision will not be favored by some, but we want you to know that this was not an easy decision whatsoever and we truly believe this decision will only make the event better overall!
You can find the updated layout assignments and schedule in the about section of the event page on disc golf scene.
Thank you for your understanding and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Greg Hill, Jeff Wiechowski, or myself, Jeremy Whitaker!
We can’t wait to see you at the Open and May the trees be ever in your favor!
