Hey Kyle, we did our best to make sure we gave everyone a chance to play. The mens 64 spots filled in less than 15 minutes. We had a long list of men on the waiting list, and a handful of open spots in the women's division. We gave it a few weeks before making the decision to open those spots up for the players who were waiting. We were disappointed to see the women join the waiting list at that point, because we really wanted to maximize the women's division. The top priority is always going to be to run a good tournament for all, which means making decisions early and creating manageable logistics. If we wait too long to move divisions around, we create last minute situations that cause a lot of stress and potential issues with the days schedule.

We looked at all the options for expanding the field to accommodate these women on the waitlist and we're simply stuck. Next year, we'll work to accommodate a bigger field overall and especially hope to see the women's division grow.
