Regarding the Great One's Sobriety throw down: Hello all, my name is Josh Rosa and I am working with Rocky on directing the tournament that everyone is hopefully excited about. I am going to be crystal clear here and let you know that we are not going to be ready for the July 10th/11th date as we had planned. Again, to be perfectly frank, there was miscommunication and misunderstanding on my part and I fully accept that this has turned into what some may call a shit show. I have never run a tournament before and to my surprise, I was running this one, with Rocky and Nick assisting. Again, that was a misunderstanding on my part and so we have seen the situation kind of move away from ideal. What does this mean at this point? It means that we are going back to the drawing board. We want to maintain that everyone that has signed up still has a spot, and everyone that volunteered to support us through a Tee-sign will still have their place held. If there are any reason you need to cancel or you need to back out, no hard feelings, it happens and its a learning experience for me. The tricky part is navigating the different events that so many wonderful promoters are putting out. Trish with Seth's is holding a great event on that Saturday up at Alta Vista. If she does it again up there next year, I highly recommend everyone check that out as the property is a good one, and she runs a tight ship. There is also going to be the Clash at the Creek, 3D, Steel City Shootout, RM Womens Disc Golf Championships, NADGT Premier. It's a great time to be a disc golfer, and anxiety inducing on the TDs. We are going to get this back on track and we are going to have an event that you feel is worth your money and time. One that I hope you enjoy and come away saying "Damn, I want to do that one again next year" I am going to work with the PDGA and see if I can get a flex start tournament on July 11th at Widefield. It may not be the 3 round extravaganza you were hoping for but I am hoping that it works for you so you get some sort of rating on that day. It will be a C-tier, it will be rated, and it should be a good time. I am picking the brain of Brandon Nelon, the master of flexes and great events, so it is my expectation we have another smooth event that is only (gulp) 11 days away. I realize this is a wall of text, but I wanted to make sure everyone knows where we are at with TGO Throwdown. As we get something more solid, we will put out some more information. Long story short, we have to go back to the postpone route. Please feel free to request a refund so that we can get you settled out. I apologize for all the back and forth but we ran into some logistic and communication issues that have made this go off the rails. Sorry again for that and all the confusion.
