Top of the Mountain!
Hello everyone!
COURSE
We're playing the temporary course up at the Sheepherder's Camp at SUU. We're doing the 13-hole SUDGA SERIES layout. I'm trying to get them to allow me to open it up on Friday, but it's their land and their policies.
This course is NOT cart friendly. It's also a temporary course that is put up for special events...so before you come yelling at me about portable baskets or temporary teepads...that's what we're playing. We're trying to get them to install this permanently but that's down the line. We've had success with this approach at other courses and I'm excited to see a tree course finally happening in southern Utah, 'bout time its not just hyzer after hyzer after hyzer.
If you search for it on UDisc it should pop up, but for some reason I can't get the location to be right so here's the location: https://goo.gl/maps/aWvjZ7WYP8TFQ7Ut8
There is no service up there and I'll be going early so here's directions as well. From Cedar City you'll drive east up HWY 14 around 10 miles and turn right on the only road you've seen for miles. If you see the SUU Mountain Center Cabin...you've gone to far. There's a few signs that say "Private Drive No Parking" That's the road you turn on and follow it up. I'll put some signs up for you. You'll head up passed a private property that has a locked gate, then .5 miles turn left at the sign that shays Sheepherders Camp. Come on up and park.
PARKING
Parking will be tight so if you can carpool please do so. If not, just don't park like an idiot up there. Try to get as tight as you can.
SUDGA SERIES
This event is part of the SUDGA Series which is southern Utah's bag tag events. You don't have to be a tag member to play but if you want to get a tag I'll have some available.
As such you might not know the players pack and trophy situation. Pro and Am players we're competing for a trophy in each divison. Pro is competing for cash. Am players get a Players pack which is $15 of credit to Infinite Discs. As a C-tier we collect 15% of the registration fees to go toward end of year payouts and SUDGA Championships.
ROUNDS
We're playing 3 rounds of 13-holes. The first two will happen back to back with a 30 minute break for bathroom and drinking water, resting, etc. Cards will remain the same for both these rounds.
We'll then do Lunch.
Usually it's a 2 hour lunch with the 3rd round starting at 215. This gives plenty of time for those that don't bring a lunch up to be able to head back to Cedar City to grab a bite to eat, but please know that it is your responsibility to use your time wisely and get back for the starting of round 3. Cards will be assigned based off score.
I always wanna check that people are reading emails and thinking about the wonders of the MCU, so this time give me a Wakanda Forever when you check-in.
SCORING
We'll be going old fashion with this event and using pencil and paper. There's no service. So...add up your scores correctly, don't give me a + or - par but an actual number, and each person should initial it confirming they checked it was done correctly....it's a 2-stroke penalty on you if yours is added wrong.
WATER
I'll have a bunch of water bottles available but please bring your own if possible.
BATHROOM
I'll have a portapotty up there for those that don't want to use the trees.
I'm excited. Sorry for the slowness of getting info out on this event, no excuses just life being life.
Look forward to seeing you up there. Feel free to respond back to this or text me too (it's down below). I don't see the DSC posts or messages cause I do most of it off my phone and they don't show up unless I go searching.
