week 33 recap

14 smiling faces showed up for the last week of doubles. Our card had two noteworthy holes. JPro hit 3's basket with an aftershock. Greg got the only birdie on 15 with a 50 ft putt.

Peyton and Romeo were drawn last and played as a duo. They started on one and smoked the front 9 with a 5 under. They coasted on the back and finished with a 48. Two teams tied with 49 so 1st place took all the cash. No aces so the ace pool went to CTP. Neil took it and $13.

party time!

Next week is the last week for doubles. We will draw about 4 and I'm hoping for a good turnout. Following our round we'll head to Pazani (6060 Marshalee Dr, about 1 mile from the course, 410-540-5777) for beer, pizza and an awards presentation. If 4 o'clock is too early you're still invited to the festivities. Things should kick off around 7. Hope to see you there.

week 32 recap

Exciting times at the penultimate week for doubles. 16 players. I couldn't stay for the whole round so I walked a couple of holes with each card. The lead card had JPro/TK vs Rob Smith Josh Workman. They started on 3 and it was a back n forth battle. Rob had a couple of 60 foot putts and TK hit a 50 footer on 5 through the trees and parked 8B with an air shot. At the 1st break JPro/TK were 4 under and Rob/Josh were 3 under. On 14 TK hit dead center chains but it didn't stick. J ... more

week 31 recap

16 players. No aces and the pot's at $101. Josh and I played against Walton/Ray and threw 3 under, good for DFL. Walton/Ray birdied half the holes and finished 9 under. Walton was a putting machine and they pocketed $5.

On the lead card it was Brian Potts/JPro vs Peyton/Zuel and they started on 9. When they got to 7 it was all tied up at 9 under. Peyton/Zuel birdied to win and Potts/JPro bogied to drop to 3rd.

The Rock is playing soft right now. Last night there were 57 birdies and 3 bogies. 2 weeks left for doubles so come join us before the fat lady sings.

14 players. No aces but MrDger hit the top of 13's basket for a couple metal mania dollars.

Waymon and I face off against RyanD and Walton Satcher (open winner at Kennett Square last weekend) and we started on 6. A couple of quick birdies (7 & 9) and at the first turn we were ahead by 2. They birdied 10 and never gave back the tee pad. But Waymon and I played solid. His drives and upshots were working and my putting was on. After the 2nd turn it was tied. Last card in was BB/DEW. They played a bogie free 8 under. Bill was halfway up the hill and Ox asks how they birdied 8. Oops!

One hole playoff, 18 long. ChrisZ/Ox got a 3, BB/DEW got a 4.

A couple of touring pros in town for the Patapsco Picnic joined us for doubles last night. Brad Williams (1012) ranked 4th in Texas and Tony Ganger (998) 3rd Indiana. These guys can huck it and Brad has Gawler-like distance. Look for them to bring it this weekend.

I had a work meeting and couldn't stay for the whole round...but I stayed for a bit. As I was on I95 racing to the meeting I realized I still had the cash. I called Joel and he covered for me. Thanks Disc Outfitters!
