The Mosquitoes have been knocked down by the heat but with the cooler weather and the rain they are back and thicker than ever.
On a positive note - By tomorrow there will be a broom on every tee pad long and short. Currently they are on ever pad from hole 5 thru 18 and all the holders are hung. Thanks to all who contributed and to those who use them to keep the pads clear.
Peace

A few people asked about this Sunday and Church since Club Kensington will be having there HLW. Many of of regular brethren will be making the pilgrimage to Kensington to share in the fun and the double points. If you have the time I highly recommend making over to the Black Locust course. Jeff has a lot of fun planned but there is a limited of 108 players so you should show up early and reg (10:45 cut off for sign in.) and then warm up or get into the pre-round Putting Challenge.

Just a reminder and some insight to the fun at Church this Sunday during our MiCPS Highlighted League of the week.
Of course it's double points which is awesome if you trying to climb the leader board.
We thought we would make it a little more fun for those who can attend by making the Ace Pool a 100% payout this week. It's at $300 + probably another $100 and from the shorts - An Ace bonanza....
What else - Well Two MDGO Michigan State Championship berths are up for grabs. ...

I updated the scheduled time based on discussions at the Church this week. Reg closes at 10:00 and we start play at 10:15 firm - several players have to get to other rounds afterward. This will make hooking up with Night Moose as well for back to back rounds - The promised land... Now we just need to work on the water to wine thing....
Due to the weather we postponed Longs this week until next week. Unless we're in tornado watch you can count on Longs May 8th.
See yeah at Church - Peace be with you.
The first video of the Ypsi Dubs Summer leagues is online and actually has some video in it - novel concept - who would have thought to include video in the video - the newfangled things they will come up with - well back to chiseling my stone tablets - hope to see yeah at a league round real soon...

No matter where you ended up on the leaderboard I hope everyone enjoyed a great summer season. We tried adding a few new things to make the season more fun and enjoyable. The optional 100% and 50%/50% cash CTPs seemed to be a hit and it enabled the league to do some of these new things. When it got hot Chris and his wife helped to make sure we had Ypsi Pops to cool down with and then we started bring out the big YD Water cooler. With several suggestions and some donations it was possible for us to experiment with placing brooms and broom holders at every tee pad. Hope the casuals respect the effort by the players to make our course more enjoyable for all who play it. Thanks again for all the great feedback and cooperation. Several have expressed thanks to Matt, Chris and I for keeping this going and with the help of others like Bob Smart, Mike Raley, Dan Whitlock and Sheldon Bowen we are able to do more and keep things pretty much on schedule. The overall success is really due to the group as a whole. The welcoming smiles and attitude help make new players immediately feel a part of the family. The cooperation during registration and payout makes it all that much more enjoyable to come out whether your out for the competition or just to learn or blow off steam during a fun round on a great course. Thanks to everyone.
I'd also like to thanks our sponsors like Brad at OG (Original Gravity in Milan) who has been very generous in providing great merch to us and local tournaments and some really great beer. He even let us experiment with putting games inside OG during the winter last year and so we may be able to explore some more opportunities like that in the future. The whole gang at OGs is great - Stop in and taste a great small batches or grab one of the great house brews. The Throw Shop helped us out with some gift certificates. Dying2Throw.com - Jesse Cahill provided some cool swag. Cassidy Mayne - Wicked Dyes – donated a free custom disc dye and "Mr. Wolf" with the Corner Brewery Growler and glasses setup. DiscGolfPlanet.tv enabled us to pass on a free pair of Keen shoes – Membership has it’s benefits. Mike Raley and Discraft provided some discs and apparel. White Mike and Andy Steiner also throw in some great discs. Several other have donated discs and other goodies which enable us to add more CTPs on the course and helped make our MiCPS HLW this year very fun with a CTP on every hole.
One last big THANK YOU to MDGO. MDGO made it possible for us to award several berths to the 2011 Michigan State Disc Golf Championship this season so Ypsi Dubs will be represented again this year at this amazing event. Bigger than ever before with a new course in play. Making history in so many ways Michigan Disc Golf Baby!! Berth winners don’t forget to register by Aug 26th!!!! Hope to see a bunch of you up in Ludington Sept 3rd & 4th.
So you helped make Ypsi Dubs what it is and we look forward to continuing to grow the league and the fun with you. So although this summer league is over we will continue playing, competing and having as much fun as possible on a public coarse. Tuesday league will continue until we run out of light and the park closes early. Sundays will continue all year long. I need all the Church service I can get. We will start a Fall Folly league to collect and post scores until the Winter league begins in November and it will run through March. We will continue to be a part of the Ann Arbor and Michigan Cooperative Point Series so we are a part of the Michigan Disc Golf Scene as it encourage other players to join us and adds a little more incentives to travel to other courses and play other leagues. Thanks DiscGolfScene for making all this fun possible and so much easier - Pete - Woot - Woot
