NOTE: This is an 18 hole layout. It keeps insisting on showing as a 19 hole layout in results. I do not know why.
The Smokey Safari Singles is a PDGA SANCTIONED LEAGUE. Players will be expected to abide by PDGA rules regarding courtesy and play. It will be played on Ottawa Park's nine year old Smokey Safari layout, originally designed by Justin Gill and Chris Hoyle. Parts of the layout have been used in the past as Final 9's for Ottawa Park Opens.
This will be a six week event.
$1 to weekly payout for the winner
$1 to the PDGA each week for sanctioning.
$1 each week will build to a Bark at the Moon entry fee for the overall winner.
$1 each week will build to buying a new bag for the PDGA member who shoots highest over PDGA Rating
$1 each week will build to buying a PDGA membership for the lowest scoring member who has **never** had a PDGA number.
**Note that if a carryover payout is not able to pay the full price of the prize it will go TOWARD that prize for the player. If the player chooses not to accept that and complete the cost of the purchase, it will go to the NEXT HIGHEST FINISHING PLAYER.
**Also note that I did pay $25 out of pocket for the initial sanctioning fee. If somehow in six weeks we wind up collecting more than necessary for payouts, I will recoup that to cover costs. Beyond that everything goes back to the players, period.
This league will be played at 10AM to avoid playing concurrently with the many casuals on the Ottawa Park's course, allowing the Smokey layout to be played with minimal interruption by casuals playing the course the way it is meant to be played. Please keep in mind: ANY CASUAL PLAYERS THAT ARE PLAYING THE NORMAL COURSE LAYOUT HAS THE RIGHT-OF-WAY! THEY ARE TO BE RESPECTED.

Two down, four to go - races close!
Two weeks are down in the six week Smokey Safari league. Right now the races are tight. In the battle for the Bark at the Moon membership Haley and Woj are a stroke apart, with Woj taking the weekly money by a single stroke this week. Narc with a strong 58 in his first appearance is lining himself up for contention as well.

In the battle for the Bark at the Moon membership Haley and Woj are a stroke apart, with Woj taking the weekly money by a single stroke this week. Narc with a strong 58 in his first appearance is lining himself up for contention as well.
In the battle for a bag Narc has also jumped out with positioning with a big 48-point-over-rating performance, but it all comes down to your best four weeks - must play four weeks to qualify, and Jeremy Collins and Jared Start are still in good position after week one.
Finally in the knock out fight for a PDGA membership John Cygnor and Johnny Keane both joined Derek Campbell and put themselves in position to go for it. Campbell currently with 2 weeks under his belt has a pair of 69s, but Cygnor's 70 and Keane's 74 mean they're both just a few hot rounds from taking control.
Again: best four rounds win it, and must play four rounds for all three major prizes.
