Shotgun start @ 6:30 PM – Registration starts at 6:00 PM and ends no later than 6:25 PM
Weekly Registration
Registration will take place at the picnic table located behind Hole #1 Tee Pad. Players are asked to sign their name under an available hole number. Starting holes will be 1, 5, 8 and 10. Depending on demand further starting holes will be allocated. Players are welcome to play with anyone they choose, member or non-member, however we ask as much as possible to spread out the number of players across all available holes to ensure a consistent pace of play.
League Scoring Format
We will be leveraging Disc Golf Scene which is an industry standard disc golf league website used by majority of leagues across North America. With this we will be implementing a Point Based scoring system.
League will be divided into 3 Divisions (A, B, C)
Week 1 thru Week 3
The first 3 weeks of league will be used to position players based on skill level in their appropriate division. An average score over the rounds played during the first 3 weeks will be used to slot players in the correct division.
After Week 3
Point based system will be implemented to award players points based on their weekly performance. Within each division 10 points will be awarded to the lowest score, 9 for second, 8 for third. etc. Each player will earn at least 1 point for playing.
League scores and updated leaderboard will be posted by Monday morning after each league week. Players can track their progress within league by following this link.
https://www.discgolfscene.com/leagues/Sault_Disc_Golf_Association_Summer_League_2019
Monthly Fun Nights
One league night per month will be scheduled as a fun night. On these league nights there will be additional prizes and side games such as Closest to the Pin per division and Longest putt among others.
Weekly Scorecards
We would like to leverage Udisc to keep track of our league scores. Players can download the udisc app on their phone by looking it up through Google Play or the App Store for iphones. Players can choose to have 1 scorer for the whole group or keep their scores individually. At the end of the round players are asked to email their results to [email redacted]. For those players unable to use Udisc, a scoreboard will be available at the registration desk to write in the round score.
Cancellation and Missed Weeks
If league is to be cancelled due to inclement weather, a decision will be made by 3pm to allow players to plan accordingly. Cancellation notification will be posted on the Disc Golf Scene league page as well as the Facebook page.
In total there are 19 weeks of league. Players total points will be based on 70% of the number of league weeks that were held. If all 19 weeks are held then total points will be based on each players best 14 weeks, therefore if players missed weeks it will not penalize them, and for those players who made more then 14 weeks, it allows their worst scores to be tossed out.
League Specific Rules
Putting: We ask that everyone putts out, meaning all players must fully complete the hole by placing the disc in the basket, (no gimmees).
Out of Bounds: There are several holes that a disc can fly out of bounds. In the event you throw your disc out of bounds, mark the spot where the disc crossed and play your next shot from that point. You are allowed 1 meter from the point where your disc crossed out of bounds. The following are the defined out of bounds areas on the course.
The following out of bound are different than previous league years
#1 – School parking lot and School yard over the fence
#4, 5, 9, 10 – Sidewalk left of the hole
#11 – Curb left of the hole
Garbage: Please respect the course. There are 3 trash and recycle bins on the course, #3 Green, #5 Green and #9 Green.
Tee Pad Area: For anyone not wishing to play from the tee pad, players must take a stance behind the mat and not beside or in front.
Lost Disc: If a disc is lost during a league round, it is asked that you limit your search time to 3 minutes max. This will ensure that everyone can finish their round in a timely manner. Players can continue searching for their disc after the round.
Hole 12 Park: To respect families utilizing the park equipment, if your disc lands in the sand in the park, you can move your disc 1 meter from the point it crossed and throw from there with no penalty.
